What people tell about us:
This experience was amazing. It was everything I wanted and more. the digging is fun. Personally I found pottery fragment, a piece of marble, and a bone fragment. Just a warning, this is an all day thing. we were also provided with delicious lunch and snacks. The archaeologists are friendly and knowledgeable.

As a person interested in archaeology one of the most exciting experiences in my life! 10/10 would do this again! Claudio teached us so many things we didn't know about ancient Rome and modern archaeology. And he is a very good cook! The excavation site is surrounded by beautiful nature and still offers many things to discover. The money spent for this tour is used to finance the excavation which is a really good concept. Thank you again for making it possible to take part at an excavation without having any archaeological pre experiences.

A really special experience with a group of Italian Archaeologists. After a gorgeous drive up into the country we made it to the old Villa. They took under their wing and taught us the basics of what to do and the history of the site then set us to work digging. We found a bunch cool stuff like marble, brick, and bones with a nice break for a family style lunch.

I had so much fun digging and listening to Claudio about the ancient Roman times and about the villa. I didn't know digging could be so addictive... By the time we were ready to leave, we had a few pieces of pottery and marble from a possible dump/wall area. I'd recommend this to anyone who once dreamt about becoming an archaeologist.

This was one of the most amazing, unique experiences we've had! Claudio picked us up at the meeting point and gave us an informative historical rundown on the way to the site followed by a fascinating tour and summary of what they've discovered there to date. After a brief intro on proper excavating techniques we got to work and found several pottery pieces over the course of a few hours including an intact base! The family-style pasta lunch was delicious and Claudio was kind enough for send us a message in the evening further detailing the piece we found - probably Etruscan from the 2nd century BC. Don't miss this one!
